Sims Recycling Solutions, recently recognized as one of Baltimore, Maryland’s most active environmental consulting providers, has expanded its east coast electronics disposal services to include highly efficient, on-site hard drive shredding.
With our recent acquisition of a new high capacity mobile e-waste shredding system, Sims Recycling Solutions customers can now witness their hard drives being shredded firsthand, from the comfort of their own offices. The new system has the capacity to destroy up to 1,200 standard hard drives per day, as well as properly dispose of backup tapes, DVD/CDs and other assorted electronic media in record time.
Once fully shredded, the remaining scrap is then securely transported to our 160,000-square-foot Baltimore e-waste facility for further processing and recycling. Certificates of destruction and video copies of the shredding process are made available to customers upon request.
“Sims realizes the importance of continuous improvement and is always looking for ways to better meet the needs of our customers,” stated Sean Magann, Vice President of Sims Recycling Solutions, Americas.
“Our Washington, DC site, has a growing business of working with both public and private organizations and with current trends in technology, companies are finding the need more than ever to destroy higher volumes of data. This mobile shredding equipment will provide us with the capability to process higher volumes in a shorter amount of time without sacrificing the security of information stored on hard drives.”
