Sims Recycling Solutions’ Nashville facility opened in 2001 and has since become one of the top performing IT asset disposal sites for the company. This year the site was recognized by the Nashville Business Journal as a top technology service firm in the area.
“We take pride in our Nashville site and invest a great deal of resources into properly handling the disposal of IT assets for local businesses,” said Michael Taylor, plant manager for Sims Recycling Solutions, LaVergne.
“It’s great to see our dedication to this area is being recognized.” This publications’ annual list ranks Nashville-area technology service firms by the number of tech employees. Sims placed number 25 on the list and currently employs 325 at its Nashville facility. It is important to us to be recognized as a technology service firm, as the company is continuously improving asset management and security services available.
The full complement of options for IT asset disposition available at this site include secure data destruction, asset reuse and remarketing, and end-of-life shredding and separation. Among other processing equipment, the advanced shredding and separation system operates on-site to safely reduce and separate electronics into recyclable commodities.
“As a global company, Sims Recycling Solutions takes great pride in earning a local award such as this one because it signifies that we are making a difference locally as well,” stated Sean Magann, vice president of Sims Recycling Solutions. “It is important to us to be recognized as a technology service firm, as the company is continuously improving our asset management and security service offerings.”
The 200,000-square-foot Nashville facility is equipped with maximum security features including closed-circuit-television (CCTV) surveillance cameras, secure isolated and monitored asset management areas with limited access, metal detectors, card-controlled entry and more.
This site, and all Sims Recycling Solutions’ sites in the United States, maintains various environmental health and safety certifications including e-Stewards, Responsible Recycling (R2), ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
