This team ensures that Sims Lifecycle Services meets the highest standards for sustainability and environmental responsibility, in line with client expectations and our own commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.
Achieving our company’s purpose, to create a world without waste to preserve our planet, is no small task. To support Sims Lifecycle Services (SLS) on our ESG journey, we created a sustainability team. This team will expand the quality of our in-house expertise to meet the growing needs of our clients while working to achieve SLS’ own corporate sustainability goals.
Angela Catt
Diana Mathis
Sophia Runau
Angela Catt, Chief Financial & Sustainability Officer, leads the team. Combining these two key roles ensures that value we create in the company for investors is sustainable, responsible and keeps SLS poised for short- and long-term growth. It allows us to fuse our sustainability data and reporting with everyday business transactions to meet our clients’ overall needs. Angela has been with the company since 2018, previously leading Sims Limited’s global Investor Relations function.
Working with her is Diana Mathis, SLS’ Director of Sustainability and OEM Compliance. For the past eleven years Diana has worked with SLS’ OEM Compliance team managing extended producer responsibility (EPR) laws throughout the US and Canada on behalf of our OEM clients.
Sophia Runau is our Lifecycle Engineer. Before joining the team Sophia worked as a Sustainability Engineer with Sims Metal in the United Kingdom. While there, she compiled the Sims Limited 2021 Sustainability Report and completed the external Scope 1 and 2 verification audit of current and base year GHG emissions.
Using data driven processes, the team will work with our clients to understand the carbon footprint of their IT asset disposition program and develop solutions for optimizing those efforts to align with their company’s own sustainability goals. The team will feed lessons from these efforts back into the business to ensure that SLS’ operations and processes meet the needs and expectations of our clients.
Additionally, the team created, and is now working towards achieving, SLS’ new commitment to establish 100% renewable electricity and achieve carbon neutrality at all of our owned Circular Centers by the end of FY25 (Scope 1 & 2). In tandem, the team will collaborate with sustainability leaders at Sims Limited, our parent company, to help achieve our overarching 2025 Sustainability Goals – operate responsibly, close the loop and partner for change.
We know that SLS’ services contribute to our clients’ Scope 3 emissions, and they rightfully expect ambitious action to manage their material as sustainably as possible. Everyone at SLS is excited to have this exceptional team onboard to help meet those expectations and achieve our own sustainability goals.
