For those eager to find the best sale price for their used cellphonesand tablets, Christmas is coming a little early this year with Zombie Phone, a new consumer mobile device buyback service from SimsRecycling Solutions.
The new, horror-themed Zombie Phone website offers visitors an easy online portal for quickly and reliably redeeming cash value for their used device. Once the device owner provides information about their service carrier and specific device make and model, the website immediately generates a price quote guaranteed to be the best currently available.
“Industry experts estimate that Americans typically hold on to their cellphones for only two years, which is one reason why 141 million mobile devices were ready for recycling, according to the U.S. EPA’s most recent figures,” says Steve Skurnac, President of Sims Recycling Solutions. “Unfortunately, only 11.7 million of those devices were collected for recycling. Zombie Phone gives consumers a convenient way to securely and responsibly recycle their cellphones and make a little extra money in the process.”
After receiving their quote, the owner may then print out a prepaid label for shipping their unwanted device to Sims’ West Chicago recycling facility, where it is then evaluated for refurbishment potential. All received devices are automatically verified against CheckMEND, the world’s largest database source of information about any used electronic device containing a serial number, to ensure that they have not been lost, stolen or blocked by a wireless carrier. Devices with resale value are then refurbished, their data securely erased, while irreparable devices are dismantled to reclaim reusable components and then recycled.
Consumers can opt for payments via check or direct bank transfer. They may also choose to donate part or all of their cash return to the Wounded Warrior Project, a service that supports and assists severely injured military service members.
