Sims Recycling Solutions made history in India when it became the first e-waste recycler to earn the Responsible Recycler (R2) Standard and is further paving the way as the leading provider in the industry with their most recent award.
In the category of Electronic Waste Management Solutions, Sims Recycling Solutions was named the Sustainability innovation Challenge award winner at the Parivartan Awards in New Delhi, India on October 16, 2014.
This achievement was bestowed upon Sims in part for its efforts at creating an innovative model for an online portal that encourages individual consumers to improve their sustainability footprint by engaging in electronics reuse and recycling.
“This award signifies our efforts in pioneering ways to manage India’s electronic waste are valued,” said Arjun Mehta, manager of Sims Recycling Solutions, India. “We will continue to work with the nation to provide best in class e-waste management solutions for a sustainable future.”
Award considerations consisted of rigorous reviews and discussions surrounding Sims’ sustainability efforts.
“Sims received attention for helping develop a story on online marketplaces for e-waste disposal and wrote an article on the Indian e-waste scenario,” stated Anand Narasimhan, director of Sims Recycling Solutions, India. “In addition, Sims’ sustainability footprint was analyzed by the board during rounds of deliberation.”
