Managed by the nonprofit, Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (SERI), the Responsible Recycling (R2) Standard establishes provisions for environmental, worker health and safety, and security practices. The R2 certification allows IT asset disposition (ITAD) companies to highlight that they comply with this common set of processes, safety measures and documentation used to breakdown or recover end-of-life IT equipment.
Companies holding the R2 certification demonstrate their consistency in services and compliance with laws and regulations across the globe. Sims Recycling Solutions’ (SRS) Singapore facility recently received the latest R2:2013 certification. This certification, among others globally demonstrates SRS’ commitment to ensuring they offer a best-in-class ITAD service.
“While we always encourage organizations to conduct site visits when selecting their IT asset disposition vendor, the R2 standard is a set of requirements that can help provide additional reassurance that we’re handling material ethically and responsibly,” stated Steve Skurnac, president of Sims Recycling Solutions. “We are proud to now have our Singapore facility R2 certified as we continue to maintain our global commitment to secure and responsible IT asset disposition.”
