“Alongside other industry-leading speakers from the likes of Santander, Bosch, Rolls Royce, Swiss Port, BP and Bosch, I was delighted to address the audience on the topic of GDPR compliance when managing ITAD”, stated Sean Magann, VP of sales and marketing for Sims Recycling Solutions.
Magann continued, “Presenting at the IoT Tech Expo was a great opportunity to help answer some of the questions attendees had regarding how this upcoming GDPR legislation will affect their IT Asset Disposition programs.”
Every organization is likely to be affected by the new European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), not just organizations within the EU.. Sims Recycling Solutions has processes in place that will ensure security and compliance throughout the IT asset disposition process.
Firmly future-focused, the IoT Tech Expo bore witness to predictions for the internet of things and the connected world. Across all industry verticals from smart cities and connected vehicles, the consensus was clear – the IoT ecosystem will save time and money, and will increase productivity while reducing our impact on the environment.
What is not as widely discussed, is the importance of responsibly managing the data that will result from the growing internet of things. In an era of increasingly stringent data privacy laws, the requirement to appropriately safeguard and destroy data is of paramount importance.
