Sims Lifecycle Services (SLS) in La Vergne, Tenn. has shown strong dedication to safety programs over the past three years. Recently the company completed training for over 100 employees on the scope and application of the OSHA General Industry Standards. The course offered by the National Safety Council (NSC) covers OSHA Standards, policies, and procedures in general industry.
SLS employees who completed the course now have the knowledge to define general industry terms found in the OSHA General Industry Standards, identify hazards, locate and determine appropriate industry standards, policies, and procedures. In addition, they have the capacity to describe the use of standards and regulations to supplement an ongoing safety and health program.
The National Safety Council (NSC) recognized SLS (formerly Sims Recycling Solutions) for this achievement and presented the company with a Safety Excellence Award. David O’Boyle, Tennessee NSC Member and an OSHA Compliance Training Consultant presented the award to SLS employees at the La Vergne site for formal acknowledgement of their efforts.
La Vergne’s reduced total injury time over a 3-year period, increased employee knowledge of safety compliance and programs, and involvement and empowerment among employees highlights SLS’ commitment to continuously strive to eliminate injuries and illnesses in the workplace. We believe excellence in SHEC practices is vital to the well-being of our people and essential to all aspects of our global ITAD and cloud recycling business.
