At the end of April we were thrilled to attend the Datacloud Global Congress 2022 edition for the first time. This year the event was held in the Grimaldi Forum in beautiful Monaco. Sims Lifecycle Services (SLS) was proudly one of the Silver Sponsors of the event alongside companies including CBRE, Cyrus One, ING Bank Deutsche Bank, and many more.
The level of excitement amongst all attendees and organizers was high as the event went go ahead after a two year hiatus. The European data center industry was finally able to reunite in person.
Datacloud Global Congress is a key global event that gathers senior executives across the data center, edge, digital infrastructure and AI industries. The stated purpose is to discuss what’s happening in the data center industry, the challenges they are facing and what’s next.
The agenda was busy, with very interesting presentations and panels that covered areas such as:
- Trends in sustainability for 2022 and beyond– creating sustainable data centers is one of the biggest challenges in our industry
- Steps to become a Green Data Center by 2030 by the German DataCenter Association– exploring the challenges faced in taking steps to become carbon neutral by 2030 and the measures that are taken for the Green Deal by 2030
- Sustainability as a strategy– stating the importance of defining a corporate sustainability strategy and how that impacts businesses and the industry
It was a great feeling to see how many companies share SLS’ views and core values, and that sustainability is becoming a priority strategy for many companies. It is clear that calculating, managing and reducing Scope 3 emissions is becoming a key consideration for data center operators.
This event also offers the perfect opportunity for networking. Our commercial team met people from around the industry and globe in our busy booth
We are looking forward to next year’s Datacloud Global Congress, which will take place in Monaco on April 25-27, 2023.
The SLS team will be attending these trade shows and conferences in the coming months. We’d love to see you there.
