Sims Recycling Solutions Listed Again as a Representative Vendor in Gartner’s “Market Guide for IT Asset Disposition (ITAD)”

October 18, 2018

West Chicago, Ill. Sims Recycling Solutions (SRS), a leading global provider of IT asset disposition (ITAD) and electronics recycling services, today announced their inclusion for the second time in the latest “Market Guide for IT Asset Disposition” reporti.

Published by Gartner, a prominent IT research and advisory company, the guide is designed to help IT leaders identify the right ITAD processes and vendors for their requirements.

“This robust collection of data offered by Gartner helps IT executives make informed decisions regarding their ITAD programs,” stated Sean Magann, global vice president of SRS. “We feel the new “Market Guide for ITAD” is a strong representation of the industry and SRS, as a large global player.”

Included in the Market Guide is a presentation of key findings and recommendations regarding risks to avoid, areas of focus, and insights on future industry challenges and concerns. Representative Vendors are included to provide readers with an overview of the market and its offerings. SRS is well-known as a single-source global supplier of standardized ITAD services, and is pleased to be acknowledged by Gartner in this report.

Gartner describes a “sole-source supplier for all geographies” as an approach that “transfers ultimate responsibility for global ITAD coordination and process standards to a single vendor. Note that no vendor delivers global ITAD services without using at least some partners. Therefore, the extent to which they use partners is an important factor.”

SRS has owned and operated processing facilities throughout the Americas, EMEA and APAC. When needed, SRS uses subcontractors to extend geographic coverage for global clients. To ensure subcontractors meet SRS’ high standards of operation they created MIDAS, a process and software for subcontractor auditing and management. MIDAS enables SRS to systematically score and track subcontractors and downstream vendors to ensure all processing is standardized and completed according to environmental best practices and in compliance, offering transparency throughout the entire supply chain.
